  • Starter containers for sprouting seedlings.

The cups in a carton are the perfect size for starting seeds before planting them in your garden.
Simply make a small hole in the bottom of each cup so water can drain and place some compost and one or two seeds in each cup.

  • Paint palette for craft days.

Stop your paints from mixing by squeezing paint into the separate egg cups. Plastic egg cartons can be washed and reused as many times as you wish.

  • Rip it up and throw it in the compost.

Simply shred or tear the egg boxes into small pieces, the cardboard egg boxes are completely biodegradable.

  • Organiser - Jewellery, coins, stationery, sewing kits etc.

Egg cartons are ideal for storing small items, the cups can separate your items so you’ll never have to manically hunt for something again.

  • Use again.

Take it to your local farmers market when you’re next shopping for eggs and simply reuse the box for the purpose it is made for, to protect fresh eggs.

What is the Paleo diet?

We take a look at the recent Paleo diet trend, what it involves and how to kick off a lifestyle change.

Basically, the principle of the diet is to transition to a diet that cavemen ate.

This means removing all modern foods from your diet, including refined foods, trans fats and sugar. Every meal will then become loaded with vegetables, nuts, leafy greens and proteins.

The aim of the Paleo diet is to go back to the diet we’re biologically designed to eat to reduce fat and toxins in the body and improving digestion and the immune system.

If you’re looking to adopt the Paleo lifestyle we have a couple of breakfast ideas for you to get you started. Enjoy!

Which Eggs Are The Tastiest?

Have you always been curious about other eggs on the market but are unsure which eggs to pick? Here we share some information on what to expect from different eggs and how they will make a difference to your dishes.

Duck Eggs
Duck eggs are both higher in protein and nutritional value than chicken eggs. Their flavour is very similar to chicken eggs but has a slight creamier taste and texture. As duck eggs are roughly the same size as a large chicken egg you can swap to duck eggs in your recipes, hassle-free.

Quail Eggs
Quail eggs are still viewed as a gourmet food but they are becoming more available. Due to the small size of quail eggs (they are roughly a quarter of the size of a chicken egg) they make great picnic foods and appetisers. When compared with a chicken egg the taste difference is minimal, with quail eggs being ever so slightly richer.

Goose Eggs
Goose eggs are big, about 3 times the size of a large chicken egg. The bigger yolk gives them a creamier taste compared to chicken eggs. Goose eggs work perfectly in a rich homemade custard or as a special breakfast treat.

Chicken Eggs
The rich and earthy flavour of chicken eggs varies with breed, diet and environment but only minimally. The great thing about chicken eggs is that they are so versatile and widely available.
